Finding the right venue for your wedding can sometimes be the hardest part of the wedding planning process. As much as I still love a Tipi or marquee wedding I have recently seen a shift towards a more glamorous sort of wedding. People looking for statement venues to create a fairytale wedding are becoming more and more popular, so today I thought I would bring you a few ideas for spectacular venues to help create your totally fabulous wedding! I have enlisted the help of One Events. One Events is the group behind some of London’s leading corporate and private events, they have a venue portfolio that comprises of award-winning spaces, and are experts in putting on first class parties and weddings.

Once Holy Trinity Church, One Marylebone was designed by Sir John Soane, one of the finest architects in the Neo-Classical style – he also designed the Bank of England. With clean lines, simple forms and careful detailing and artful use of natural light sources, this venue offers some beautiful spaces to get married in. A listed building, it is only one of three London churches by Soane. As one of his most expensive, it is considered to be one of his best. With four different spaces to choose from, each as beautiful and as distinguished as the other, from the atmospheric crypt to the stunning, naturally lit Galleries.

Originally owned by an ambitious property developer way back when in 1884, One Horse Guards began life as a prestigious and impressive apartment block. Overlooking the Thames, it’s built in the French Renaissance style, and at the time it was built, it provided residences for the upper echelons of Victorian society. With two suites and a terrace on offer, you can choose from the glass fronted Renaissance Room or the wood-panelled Oak Room, or the Whitehall Suite with its 300 year old marble fireplace.

Another listed building, One Mayfair was once St Mark’s Church. Built between 1825 and 1828, it was constructed to help tackle the shortage of “church sittings” in the area. Built in a Greek revival style using designs by Peter Gandy, a highly regarded Greek, neo-classical architect, One Mayfair is one of his finest examples. In the late 1800s, Sir Arthur Bloomfield changed the roof and added some Gothic extra features to the main body. Inside, there are several gorgeous spaces that can serve as dramatic wedding venues. Whether it’s the super high ceilings of the Grand Hall or the intimate, low arches of the Crypt, or the original mosaic floor of the Narthex, this venue has lots to offer the husband-and-wife-to-be looking for something different.
