Francesca and Sam’s Navy and White Christmas Wedding. By Dan Hough Photography

We are at the mid-point of the week again, how is your week going so far? Mine seems to be speeding by as ever! Never enough hours in the day are there! Todays wedding is a winter wedding with took place 5 days before Christmas, so there are lots of fairy lights to give it a Christmas feel. With white roses and white gypsophila the looks is very Engish and classic and with a few handmade items to save money, it also has a personal feel to it. Big thanks to Dan Hough Photography for the images.

‘Our wedding was very relaxed and informal as we didn’t go for the typical formalities such as speeches etc. Our wedding was perfect with very special guests and went just the way we had planned!

Francesca and Sam were married on 20th December 2014 at St John’s Church Chorlton and The Oak Tree of Peover, Lower Peover. ‘This was our local church as we live in Chorlton. We chose The Oak Tree of Peover because it was a small, cosy venue that we thought would be perfect for a Christmas wedding. The venue was small enough so that all our guests would be kept together and not separated into the bar area as it was all together. The venue was also dressed so Cristmassy and had lovely log fires. We had 80 day guests and an extra 60 came at night time. It took 6 months to plan the wedding.

How they met
We met through friends and we have been together five years.

The Proposal
It happened on Valentines Day. Sam had offered to cook a meal at our house. I got home from work and after a long day at school (I’m a teacher!) all I wanted to do was put my pyjamas on and relax. When I got home Sam had really made an effort and so I thought I best had too! He made us a lovely meal and then proposed in our kitchen. It was exactly how I would have wanted it!

How did you allocate your budget
We decided on a set amount we wanted to spend and tried to stick to this as best we could. I also made invitations and we made our table favours to try and save on some of the cost.

How did you choose your photographer
We first saw Dan’s work at a wedding fayre in Manchester. We loved his unique style of photography and because we did not want very formal photos decided he would be perfect. We met Dan a while before the wedding at our house and he made us feel really comfortable and relaxed. We had a good chat and he was really helpful with showing us what sort of thing would be possible. We had an engagement shoot which helped us get to know Dan better and this again made us feel really comfortable. Dan was lovely on the day of the wedding. We hardly knew he was there! He stayed for the entire day and even for most of the party in the evening. He got some amazing, relaxed shots and we couldn’t have asked for better photos.
