DIY Tutorial – Flower Monagram

DIY Header

I hope you are all well and had a lovely weekend. We had a fantastic weekend spent as a family and I have to say I was a little disappointed when I dropped Fearne off at school this morning. This morning however I thought I would start the week off with a bang and I managed to make it to the gym for a 6-30am spinning session! I have decided that this years wedding season I want to become more fit and healthy to be able to run around a little more elegantly on the wedding day. Do any of our Boho readers find it is easier to exercise first thing in the morning? Are you trying to get fit for your upcoming weddings? We would love to hear your stories and plans and maybe we could share them on our blog with all the other Boho Readers.  Let’s inspire each other!

Today on the blog we are back with with our weekly DIY feature.  This week we have Sofia from Sofia Plana Photography sharing with us this great post on Flower Monograms. A perfect addition to any wedding.

‘This lovely flower monograms are super easy to make and will look great at your wedding welcome table or you can make numbers and use them for the guest tables. You can also use them to decorate a nursery or any room or even as a gift to someone special!’

STEP 1) Carefully cut the front or your paper mache letter.

STEP 2) As an option, you can paint the letter in a color of your choice or maybe even decorate it with washi tape, decoupage or you can also leave it as it is.

STEP 3) Cut the dry floral foam in bricks and fit it inside the letter, making sure all the little gaps are filled so that the foam doesn’t fall.

STEP 4) Choose the flowers and leaves you want to use. You can just remove them from the stems and most of them will have a hard plastic that will make it very easy to press them into the foam. You can use hot glue for the leaves and bigger flowers or the ones that don’t have a hard stem to press into the foam.

  • You can also use natural flowers instead of artificial, but make sure you use a wet floral foam and a plastic wrap between the foam and the paper mache for that.

    Lovely :)
Good on you for going to a 6.30am spinning class!! I do find it’s easier to do i first thing in the morning! I’ve started to go jogging at that time too ( which is when my daughter wakes me up ! ) and I do feel that waking up with the sun( or the rain!) in the park makes such a difference on my day! sadly haven’t been going theese days as I’ve been sick :( but hopefully tomorrow! ( and I can’t believe I am actually looking forward to going jogging at 6.30am! )

It was really quite difficult to get into a morning routine Sofia but I’m getting there now.
