‘Eco friendly British Flower Wedding Inspiration’ By Becky Joiner Photographer

I have another wonderful styled shoot today which focuses on the importance of using British flowers, and local florists for an Eco friendly wedding. This collection of wedding suppliers got together to create a shoot that focused on home-grown talent and home-grown produce. With a rustic and etherial feel to the shoot the images show off what can be done when great suppliers get together. Beautiful flowers for a beautiful wedding. The Shoot took place in June this year at Clements Farm in Somerset, this is where most of the flowers used in the shoot were grown. Big thanks to Becky Joiner for the photos

‘Use native British flowers, local florists and wedding suppliers to create a beautiful eco friendly wedding. Grow your own wedding flowers or buy native British flowers to produce a boho wedding style of your own!’

A collection of us wanted to create a set of photographs that showcase British flowers, the seasons and to work creatively with out a brief. We wanted to use the land that the flowers were grown on to do make the photographs, which we did.
We did two shoots. A Spring and one mid summer, just because it allowed us to show different flowers that peaked at different times.

The idea behind the shoot was to form a successful collaboration of all things ‘local’ and ‘British’ such as blooms, confetti, hair and make-up, bridal wear, photographer and a florist. Our inspiration was then to promote all things British along with the ability to source ‘local’. To showcase beautiful locally grown blooms from native British wild flowers to beautiful English roses, highlighting the possibility to create a truly unique and fabulous wedding to suit different styles and budgets.

As you work intuitively on a styled shoot, you plan what you are going to do but we also worked creatively on the day and made new stuff happen too. The weather was amazing, the early evening sun really made a difference. I find that working on a styled shoot allows you to work with a group of like minded people, and we each have our strengths to make the shoot happen.
We would love to do a Autumn and winter shoot showing what can be done with textured seed heads, evergreens, berries, and winter blooms… faux furs and moody make-up! So that we can show each season.
