Today I would like to introduce you to a stunning wedding venue; Sandon Hall. Set in 400 acres of rolling parkland, Sandon Hall is a grand, yet tranquil 19th century country mansion located in Sandon, Staffordshire. This amazing hall is perfect for any kind of wedding and any size. If you are looking for a formal, elegant location for your ceremony and reception then your wedding ceremony can be held inside the library, saloon or dinning room. However if you are looking for something a bit different or a larger celebration then a marquee or Tipi can be put up in the grounds surrounded by 400 acres of beautiful land.
‘There is always something romantic about a place immersed in history, and Sandon Hall won’t disappoint you. From the ancient library to the elegant conservatory, each room has its own unique features and touch of style.
The fascinating history behind the mansion can be traced back as far as 1339 when by marriage ‘The Manor of Sandon’ came to Thomas Erdeswicke. In 1776 the house was bought by Nathaniel Ryder, 1st Baron Harrowby, who retained the renowned architect Samuel Wyatt to carry out extensive extensions and improvements.’
‘The mansion was then severely damaged by a fire in 1848, when a workman working on the roof left a torch lit which set the Hall alight. Although the blaze spread slowly and many interior items were saved, the structure of the hall had to be rebuilt. Designed in the neo-Jacobean style, the house was completed in 1848 by the famous architect William Burn under instruction from Dudley Ryder, 2nd Earl of Harrowby.
All these events have interestingly shaped Sandon Hall, which is a magnificent grade 2 listed building in the county of Staffordshire. The mansion is still a family home, but since 1994 it has been open to weddings, events and function.’
‘Although the mansion is full of splendour and elegance, at Sandon Hall the feeling is that of being at one with nature. This unique combination of elegance and nature is what makes Sandon Hall the perfect venue for traditional and glamorous as well as eclectic and alternative weddings. Because every couple is unique and will have different requirements, at Sandon Hall we have an experienced, caring team to help you through the planning of your special day. From the food menu to the choice of music and lights, we ensure your day is perfect from the beginning to end.’
