Engagement shoots and pre wedding shoots ae something I don’t feature to often on the blog, however when this gorgeous set of photos dropped into my inbox I knew I had to share them with you. Being a massive animal lover any shoot that includes animals will usually get a big yes from me, and the horses in this pre wedding shoot are just stunning. Couple that with the most amazing sunshine and warm lighting, well you have gorgeous pre wedding shoot perfect for the pages of the Blog. Big thanks to Tom Redman Photography for the images.
How they met
We met at an Easter hockey festival in Weymouth when we were teenagers and ended up going our separate ways for a few years due to moving away to university. We then got back together 8 years ago…(wow it doesn’t feel like it has been 8 years!!)
The proposal
Ed proposed to me the weekend before Christmas in 2012. We went for a walk on the cliffs at Kimmeridge bay in Dorset, little did I know that he had been planning it for ages and in his mind had hoped for a crisp sunny winters day….in actual fact it was a huge strom, but that didn’t deter him. We were fully wrapped up in wet weather gear and we got to a bench where he got down on one knee in the mud over looking the surf below. Kimmeridge is a place where Ed goes surfing regularly and he says it’s his place where he does all his thinking. I was totally surprised! He brought out the most gorgeous vintage ring that he had searched for for months which I instantly fell in love with and was very impressed with his choice. He also had stuffed a little bottle of Moet into his bag and we sat on the bench with laughter and tears and sipping champagne from the bottle in the rain (to me it was perfect!) before he whisked me away to my favourite local hotel for the rest of the weekend. The Harbour Heights in Poole.
The Shoot
Marie-Claire and Edward had their engagement shoot in Broadmayne, a village in Dorset. ‘ It’s where I grew up. The horses belong to my mum.’
Tell me one the thing you love most about each other
Laughter! We share a lot of things in common and we both find each other very funny.
The Wedding
26th July 2014, at Brownsea Island, Poole Harbour for the service and then Lake Yard Club (Dorset Lake Shipyard) for the reception.
Do you have a theme or colour scheme set for the wedding yet?
Yes the theme is bohemian beach theme with lots of homemade details for example I am making the cake and my mum has made all the invitations. The colours are peppermint and dusky pink. We are aiming for a relaxed rustic feel rather than formal.
What bit of the wedding are you looking forward to the most?
The actual ceremony on the island and seeing Ed as I walk down the island.
