As you know I don’t feature engagement shoots, pre-wed shoots or love shoots that often BUT when they come though and are as cute and quirky as this one I’m more than happy to share them with you! London is a blooming amazing part of our country, I’m proud to say it is our capital and every time I make the trip down from Sheffield I find another reason why I love it so much (plus I was born there so I guess I can kind of call it home!) Today’s pre-wedding shoot shows off our fair city in a great light and is full of clever quirky photography from Laura Babb and a fun loving couple!
Aimee and Dennis had their shoot in May this year in and around London Bridge, Aimee says ‘I’m ‘soon to be Hooker – I realise that would make me A Hooker that’s why I’m now a Clark-Hooker!’ I’ll be sharing their wedding with you in a few weeks time.
How they met
We met when Den was Musical Directing We Will Rock You at the Epsom Playhouse in Surrey and I was dancing in it.We have now been together 4 years.
The proposal
To cut a long story short – Den had dropped in to conversation a few times at various dinners, ‘So, shall we get married?’ Or something not to dissimilar to these words. I wanted this to be a memorable experience as I hoped that I would only ever do it once! So…..
For Valentines day, I made Den a big love heart made of pin badges that related to me and him and left a space. I told him I wanted to buy an ‘I LOVE N Y’ badge from New York when went towards the end of February. I then had a handmade button created saying ‘Marry Me?’. On the 29th of February, I gave him the badge and surprised him with Champagne and a lovely breakfast on a table full of heart plates, confetti, and roses.
Tell me one the thing you love most about each other
I just asked Den and he said ‘Everything’. How can I top that? If I had to pick just one thing I’d say he is the most thoughtful, kind hearted person I know and he makes me smile everyday.
The Wedding
22nd June 2013 at Cain Manor, Farnham, Surrey. My colour scheme was mint and lavender until I fell in love with some beautiful peach avalanche roses. This colour then became a prominent choice of our colour scheme. I have two bridesmaids wearing lavender, two in peach and two in mint green. My theme would be classic vintage with a hint of lace and buttons.
