I have a whole heap of pretty to share with you this week starting off with this gorgeous farm wedding which was sent into by Tino and Pip. It’s full of some fab DIY projects as well as lots of lovely colourful details. Set on the Brides family’s farm in Kent it has a lovely relaxed homely feel to it and it is clear by the amount of smiles and the fantastic dancing that everyone is having a great time!

The lovely couple are Samantha and Mark who were married on 7th July the ceremony was held at St Peter & St Paul’s Church, Cudham and the reception was at Sam’s parents’ house Homeleigh Farm, Berry’s Green, Kent. Sam says ‘It was my childhood church, so very special to me. When my stepdad, Gary, joked about a marquee in the garden, we loved the idea.’ They had 110 guests and it took 8 months to plan.

‘We really wanted a relaxed family wedding. Lots of smiles and laughing, great food and surrounded by all of the people that we love.’

How they met
We met through work 5 years ago. I left to go travelling but after 9 months I returned to work in the same office as Mark. We’ve been together for almost 3 years.

The proposal
Mark took me away to Bath, where we had gone on our first weekend away together, staying in the same hotel. He had also booked the same restaurant, Beaujolais, now my favourite! He asked me after our meal with a beautiful ring he’d designed himself.

How did you choose your photographer
We knew of Martin & Penny through a family connection. We really loved their wedding photography – it was a big relief to know our photos would turn out beautifully.

The dress
My dress was made by my extremely clever mum, Beryl. The antique lace detail was very special; family lace generously given by Mark’s mum, Angela, to use on the dress. Pearl necklace and earrings were burrowed from my Mum. Shoes by Call It Spring.

The suit and bridesmaids
The Groomsmen wore black morning suits. Mismatched bridesmaids dresses were from Topshop, Oasis and Zara.

Theme
We were aiming for a relaxed country theme, lots of splashes of different colours, lots of ribbon, bunting and flowers.

Food
We had a home-reared hog roast, which was delicious!

Entertainment
Ceilidh band, The Springer Sisters, led us in a barn dance.

Flowers
Bride and bridesmaid’s bouquets had a wildflower feel, made by Lily of the Valley, Biggin Hill.
Mark’s parents and aunt and uncle did all the other flower arrangements. Buttonholes were pale yellow gerberas, sweet williams as centre pieces.

Decorations
Lots of ribbons and homemade bunting. We had coloured ribbons on all of the chairs, with a different colour for each table.

Personal touches
• Angela made our gorgeous wedding cake, with pale yellow icing and hundreds of little white flowers.
• My friend Sara made lots of colourful cupcakes for those who wanted chocolate instead of fruitcake.
• Our favours were wooden hearts which doubled up as place settings, with each guest’s name painted on one side and our names and the date on the other. My sister and chief bridesmaid, Kim, hand-painted each one!
• All the kids had bags with toys and books to keep them entertained, put together by my stepmum, Hannah.
• Guests wrote messages on postcards in place of a guest book.

Special moments
Sam – getting ready with my Mum and four sisters, who were all bridesmaids, was lots of fun and surprisingly stress-free, standing with Mark in the church and listening to the wonderful speeches made by my Dad, Mark, and best men, Hazel and Andy.
Mark – the church ceremony.
