Saturday Cinema: Katie and Billy and Their Beautiful Super 8 Wedding by Cine Reportage

Happy Saturday everyone, I hope you are enjoying the weekend? It’s been a busy old week here at Boho HQ and I have been out of the office a lot more than usual so today I am playing catch up and trying to get on with some work….what about you?

Well one thing you can do is take a few minutes out of your day to watch this weeks Saturday Cinema, and I can tell you it is a good one! A beautiful Super 8 wedding film that I know you are going to love!
It’s the wedding of Katie and Billy who were married on 19th May at a Private house in the Kent countryside. The film was sent into me by Will at Cine Reportage who are based in Hove in Sussex.
I actually found watching the film very calming, the music choice is beautiful, mixed with the soft muted tones fo the super 8 film makes it very soothing on the eye and left me feeling chilled out and rather wistful. The couple are amazing, Katie’s dress is gorgeous and she looks like an angel in it, as for Billy in his dapper suit he, looks equally as dashing. The film is simple, tender and will leave you feeling all floaty and loved up……….enjoy! I’m off to watch it again!

I asked Will what his favourite part of the wedding was ‘It was a stunning wedding with loads of beautiful details, but our favourite parts of the day were Katie & Billy themselves – incredibly stylish and so very much in love, they were a pleasure to shoot.’

Why do you think a couple should hire a film maker for their wedding ‘A film is like a time-machine that can transport you back to one of the most important days in your life. Film can capture emotion and atmosphere in a way that photos alone can’t.’

What do you think makes a good wedding video ‘A great wedding video should be a carefully crafted trip though a series of moments, as opposed to an exhaustive, real-time document of anything and everything that happened – poetry rather than prose.’

We work in super 8 film, which is a magical medium – each moment is recorded as a strip of tiny, exquisite images, you can hold them in your hand and see them with the naked eye.
The results have a timeless, nostalgic feel to them.
It’s not the easiest format to work with, neither is it the cheapest, but it’s hopelessly romantic and therefore perfect for weddings.
We do our best to blend into the background – shooting reportage style. Our favourite shots are moments of raw emotion, which are better captured without the inhibition of posing for the camera.

How refreshing to a super 8 film that records scenes that actually happen and not ‘set up or staged’ for the camera. Great work..
