Selena and Philip’s Purple Filled, Salsa Dancing Wedding by John Hope

So it’s Friday! Yay for that! I have no weddings this weekend and providing I feel better I will be enjoying the yearly Tramlines festivities which is Sheffield’s own music festival. The whole city will be taken over by a variety of bands and DJs and I intend to make the most of it as possible.
But for today I have a fab wedding for you, and it’s the wedding of a very lovely couple, Selena and Philip who’s engagement shoot I featured HERE back in May, shot by the very talented John Hope Photography

Selena and Philip who were married on 14th April at The Chevin Country Hotel & Spa they had 87 day guest in the day and 150 in the evening. It took 10 months to plan.
They describe their day as ‘It was such an amazing day, that we will never forget. A perfect way to start our lives together’

How did you choose your photographer
John is the husband of a work colleague. We looked at his pictures and met him and we knew he was just what we wanted in terms of personality and the style of Photography.

The venue
We went to look around and loved the setting, the log cabins and beautiful scenery around the lake. We enquired about available dates beforehand and they only had Fridays left in April and May which is when we wanted. After looking around the venue we were told they’d just had a cancellation for 14th April……… We snapped it up because it’s our anniversary date! Must have been fate!

We had a beautiful blessing after the civil service

Advice
Do as much as you can early on so you are not too stressed close to the day. For the bride, make sure you have nothing to do but get pampered like I did the day before so you are relaxed for the big day.
On the day, just enjoy it, don’t let any silly little things stress you out and remember what the day is all about.

Biggest surprise
The Father of the Brides speech. My dad is a quiet man and wasn’t looking forward to getting up and speaking in front of so many people. It was beautiful, straight from the heart and just perfect.
