I have a beautiful Styled shoot for you today brought to you by Sue Shupenia from Memories By Sparky. It is beautifully shot with some amazing soft tones, a real whimsical quality to the images. The shoot has been years in the making with Sue the creator of the shoot having had it planned in her head for the past 2 years, so it is amazing to see her ideas come to life!
The shoot took place last month at Smoky Lake, Alberta, Canada, the venue is actually her son’s farm which is where she first drew inspiration from.
Sue says about the shoot ‘It all started with a dream, that turned into a timeless and continuously inspiring reality and natures beauty is simply an accessory to a beautiful vintage country wedding.’
Personally I feel this shoot takes us to another place, a dream world where the sun always shines and time sits still. The delicate colours and soft tones work beautifully with the vintage props that Sue has collected. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
I asked Sue to tell us more about the shoot and her inspiration behind it………….
‘I love the countryside, I love old rustic barns and old homesteads, I can sit and imagine for hours how life was way back then. Now today, I shop and all I see is “Vintage” everything! I knew now was the time to put this shoot together and hopefully inspire others by it.
In this particular shoot, I was inspired 2 years ago by an old barn on my sons farm, then we went hiking last year on his property and came across an old homestead site and found some beautiful old rustic pieces, I fell in love all over again and knew that I had to create my vision of a simple vintage country wedding.’
‘I wanted Vintage Details, nothing left unturned, from the vintage wedding gown to the Cake to lanterns and burlap I envisioned a beautiful bride so in love with her man, the bride with long blonde hair. I seen colors of lavender and honey in each photo with a gentle haze…..I so feel I accomplished everything that I had set out to do with this shoot. I even had a countdown where friends and family would send daily reminders on how many sleeps it was until the day. I insisted mother nature gave up her threats of rain as I did not have any backup plans – nor was I willing to change anything. Needless to say, after 2 years of dreaming, 3 months of coordination, 2 hours of set up, and 5 hours of shooting, June 16, 2012 was a day that I will always remember through the images I produced!’
