The Bank Holiday is now over (Boo) so it’s all back to normal on the blog and regular blogging schedule has resumed (yay!) so I’m starting off today with the wedding of Maria & Marc were married on 8th October at the Smith-Gilbert Gardens are in Kennesaw, Georgia. The wedding itself was sent into me by Annie Gannon Kaufman from Photo by Gannon
It’s a lovely wedding with a stunning bride, the whole wedding itself is very natural and un fussy very in keeping with the brides wishes to keep the day very simple. It shows that you don’t need huge details and lots of fuss to create a perfect day.
The Dress
White by Vera Wang Collection purchased at David’s Bridal. She tied white burlap around her waist for a belt, and added a beautiful feathered flower from Neiman Marcus to the belt. She finished her look with a head piece from Nordstrom, and earrings given to her by a special Aunt.
The Venue and Décor
The Smith-Gilbert Gardens are in Kennesaw, Georgia. The couple married under an arch decorated with gardenias and black berries. The bride ordered a bouquet of gardenias from Etsy, and then adorned it with burlap and additional gardenias. The tables were covered with cream table cloths, and tan burlap table runners. Raffia was tied around antique mason jars (the bride’s grandmother’s) to be used for candle holders. Center pieces were tall glass vases. Stones and moss were put in the bottom with large twigs.
Everything was extremely organic in nature. The bride wanted the natural environment to shine through. She said that “Honestly I didn’t want any decorations because the place was just beautiful. It was about nature and the flowers.” There are little trails all around the gardens that was one reason the bride chose the location so that people could explore a bit. She also liked that the venue allows you to choose your own vendors.
Cake
A friend’s wife made the cake. The bride was looking for something less traditional, and chose carrot cake with pineapple. It was a huge hit.
Favourite part of the wedding
‘Other than marrying my true soul mate, I think my favourite part of the wedding was my dress and the venue”.
