Saturday Cinema: Gina & Steven

Today I am starting a new feature on the Blog called Saturday Cinema.
As well as having some amazing real weddings submitted to me, more and more often I am getting Wedding Videos (wedding documentaries for those who don’t like the term videos) sent to me as well. For this reason I thought as I don’t normally post anything on a Saturday It was time to start.

So for all of you who aren’t going to a wedding on a Saturday, I have put together Saturday Cinema for you! A chance to sit back grab yourself a glass of bubbles and escape into someone else’s wedding world for a few minutes.

This weeks featured presentation is brought to you by Reel Weddings and is the beautiful and very touching wedding of Gina and Steven, I just love the bit when Gina is saying her vows, it brought a tear to my eye!………enjoy!!

Aaron from Real Weddings told me a bit more about the wedding itself:
Filmed just after Christmas, this was our grande finale to 2010. There were so many elements which went into this wedding to make it so individual and personal to the couple.
Gina wanted to have a Christmas wedding for two main reasons. One, she loves Christmas. Just loves it. And two, since she works at organising and performing to major events across the globe, Christmas was one of the few times she could be expected to be in the UK.

So with that in mind, the date was set. The venue was the fantastic Manchester Monastery to accompany such an occasion. Then Gina and Steven gathered all the elements of their heritage and personalities for the day. We had Chinese lanterns, dragons, sparklers, mulled wine, indoor snow, musicians, a compère called ‘Claude’, and Converse trainers for the wedding footwear! In fact, not only did Steven and Gina wear Converse for the entire day, all their ushers and bridesmaids wore different coloured Converse to match their attire as well. It became a veritable rainbow of colour as they all came down the aisle (scattering coloured petals to match their clothes!)

With all the work that went on with the day, we knew we had to produce their film which could match the scope of their efforts. We also knew Gina was to be working in Ukraine when their film would be finished, so we arranged to upload their wedding film online and then at exactly 20.25 GMT an email was sent with a link and a password so they could watch their film together while being able to see their reactions on Skype at the same time.

What a fantastic feature, Kelly – how wonderful to see the weddings in this way. And this is a lovely wedding to kick off with. Also, what a fantastic venue – 2nd one I’ve come across today through Twitter related posts – some people have goood taste out there.

I love this video and where wedding videography is heading. So much better and well done than the old 2 hour plus videos of the 90s.
