Happy Friday everyone! My word am I happy it’s Friday at last! This week seems...
Last week I spent the afternoon out and about in the York and the West Yorkshire area. In the evening I went to a tweet up organised by the very lovely Leafy Couture where I met lots of great new wedding suppliers. One of those wedding supplier was Linda Davey the owner of Dresses at No 9 a very talented lady who creates very beautiful bespoke wedding dresses and occasion wear. She is based in the Yorkshire dales and brings with her a whole host of experience.
I got chatting to Linda and found her an incredibly warm and unassuming lady.
Amongst her many dressmanking and designing talents, Linda told me all about her new collection which she has just launched and had photographed by Rob Booker. She let me have a quick look on Robs iPad and I knew straight away that I had to share them with you.
Linda told me why she deiced to launch this collection:
“I wanted to create an individual look for many brides-to-be who are forced to choose certain styles currently available in the wedding gown market.
Brides-to-be will not only be able to find their perfect wedding gown, but also receive assistance with vendor selection through our personal recommendations.”
Linda has a strong network of wedding suppliers around her and she manged to get them all involved in the photo shoot to launch this new collection. Luckily most of these amazing supplies were also there so I got to meet them all personally.
Jane from the rather wonderful HF Couture who created the amazing bespoke head pieces for the shoot, as well as the very beautiful flower arrangements that were put together by Leafy Couture and not forgetting Rob Booker who took the photos.
A bit more information regarding the Collection:
During the 1950’s influences including film, television and music created a new market when teenagers became an emerging fashion voice. 1950s glamour had suddenly arrived. The era can be remembered for two fashion silhouettes; the full skirt and the pencil slim. Both styles placed great emphasis on the narrowness of the waist and we have taken this as our inspiration for our new 2011 Spring/Summer Vintage Collection.
By attentively listening to brides-to-be, Dresses at No 9’s creator, Linda Davey, has spent the last few years offering free advice through Facebook, blogging and answering dilemmas in bridal forums alongside her growing bespoke bridal wear business.
It became apparent that many brides-to-be want to incorporate their character into a gown when it comes to their wedding and are choosing Dresses at No.9 as their leading choice of dressmaker.
