At last the time has come when I can announce the winner of our FREE Wedding Competition. In April Boho Wedding and Events joined forces with our good friends S6 Photography and Ever After Designs to bring you a Free Wedding………well not all free, but the photography, wedding planning and invitations are!!

Our aim was to give a deserving couple who had been through some hardship or a bad time with a story to tell the opportunity to win this fantastic prize!
We had a great responce and lots of amazing entries, some that even brought a tear to my eye, I wish everyone could have won!!

But there can be only one winner and I’m delighted to announce that the prize goes to
Lee Price and Liz Dew from Sheffield (via Vancouver)

Here is there story:
‘We met at the Launch of Sheffield Live Community Radio on 29th October 2007 – it was one of those moments where “our eyes met across a crowded room” – cheesy but true! Lee is from Vancouver. (Funnily enough my Granddad was from Vancouver, he came over in the Second World War.)

Lee has been having a hectic time of it lately – he was made redundant from his job 6 months ago. Then Lee’s mum got sick (she’s in Canada) and is awaiting a heart operation to have two valves replaced. We were also worrying about Lee’s immigration status here in the UK, as he can’t be here without a job, and he’s not allowed just any job, which makes it really difficult. The pressure on him has been immense. So that we could be sure of being together, we got legally married on Tuesday 30th March 2010! We are so happy to be together, but gutted that we didn’t get chance for all of our friends and family to be there – especially Lee’s mum.

We would still love to have a ‘proper’ wedding to celebrate with all of our friends and family. Lee’s mum does not yet have an operation date yet but the consultants are saying late May. If we have the ceremony we always wanted in April 2011 she will be well enough to travel and be there with us. We think it will be a wonderful way of celebrating a year of marriage and having the party we always dreamed about. We have a minimum budget of £4000, which we were hoping to add to but with Lee not in work at the moment we are not sure how this will work out.

Winning the completion would mean so much, it would help is out financially as well as giving us the boost we really need. Things have been so stressful and something like this would just make us feel that maybe things could start to get better.’

Liz and Lee are delighted to have won and it was fantastic giving them the news. We are working together to get a date sorted but at the moment it is looking like Saturday 23rd April 2011.
I’m so happy we have been able to make a difference to such a lovely couple and really can’t wait to start working with them to create the perfect day they never had first time around!!
